When a coliform negative test is performed, nothing happens. Using SensiMedia, "negative" is determined rapidly since SensiMedia has good repeatability. If Biomatic VDCS is used for SensiMedia, test can be fully aoutomated.

SensiMedia SM is to test 1ml of sample. Add a sample to it and incubate it. When the presence of live microorganisms are detected, the color of sensor turns into yellow from blue. If sensor had been blue until the end of test protocol, then the test was negative.

The graph bwelow shows the detection performance of different kit for E. coli detection. Any detection kit inhibit growth of Bacillus during the test protocol. In case of BGLB, inhibitation is strongest among kits so that the growth of E. coli becomes slower, compared with liquid media that other kit uses.
